Jason has been practicing law since May of 1993, when he graduated third in his class from the University of Georgia, School of Law .  Since he graduated from law school, Jason has successfully represented hundreds of clients, including victims of automobile design defects, consumer, lender, and insurance fraud, trucking negligence and impaired commercial and private drivers, roadway design and construction defects, faulty playground equipment, defectively designed industrial and agricultural equipment, and he has also represented small business owners in venture capital and other business disputes.

Mr. Crawford has been appointed lead counsel in a multi-state class action lawsuit that was certified as a class adversarially in the Georgia state court system.  Mr. Crawford was also one of the primary lawyers involved in the successful, nationwide class action settlement reached in federal district court in the case of McBride v. Life of Virginia d/b/a GE Life.  The McBride case involved universal life insurance policies.  The company claimed the right to increase the premium payments of its policyholders, many times even after the policyholder had paid on the policy for many years.  The settlement made over $150 million in relief available to the policyholders.  Presently, Mr. Crawford is actively pursuing class action lawsuits against several banks of a scheme to defraud veterans.

Mr. Crawford has successfully prosecuted cases against GM, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota , Honda, Mitsubishi, Asplundh, Altech, and the DOT.  Some of the types of defects involved were fuel system design (gas tank location, fuel lines), door latch strength, instability and unreasonably high rollover likelihood, roof strength, seatback strength, and cable strength in aerial lifts.

All of the partners at DCFB began their trial practice and litigation careers at a nationally-recognized law firm.  Jason worked at that firm for almost 13 years.  He made partner there in 2000 and became a name-partner in 2004.  Mr. Crawford owes much of his success and training to his time at his previous firm.

Along with Pete Daughtery, Clay Fuller, and Dustin Brown, Mr. Crawford founded DCFB in March of 2006.  The partners enjoyed practicing with each other and wanted the increased flexibility that comes with a smaller law firm.  DCFB still represent the same types of clients in the same types of cases as when they were at their original firm.

Mr. Crawford has held many leadership positions in the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association.  He has authored or co-authored more than a dozen law review articles.  He is a member of the Board of Directors at the Gardens at Calvary, a retirement community here in Columbus , and for nearly a decade as of this writing, he has coached the Columbus High School Mock Trial team.

In addition, Jason loves spending time with his wife, Sara, and his children, Jordan, Madison, Hunter, and Olivia.  Jordan and Madison are students at Columbus High School, although Jordan will begin college in the Fall of 2010.  Hunter and Olivia attend Eagle Ridge Academy .  When the children aren't in class or participating in numerous extra-curricular activities, they love traveling, swimming, and almost anything outdoors.
